(About to upgrade mine from 2x500G to 2x1T.) ) You probably know this, but RAID0 gives you no data protection to speak of - if either of those drives fails, all the data on them is history.

Also? Your facebook connect code seems to be broken. I gor an error message saying you need to set your callback URL.

Re: We

First time I saw any article on Tofutti. I think I would recommend it, as long as you're ok
with the fan. It's not a quiet drive by any means. There is a nice LaCie
(2big Quadra) that has two removable drives that also looks good. I just
couldn't find it to buy, but you may have more success than I.

cheers

Re: Elephant RAID Review: Thinking about a RAID? Would you recommend it to a total stranger? lol Actually Carbon Computing is just down the road a piece from me. I'm in the market for an external drive 'cause I want some space for my music projects and I want to back up my imac so that I can upgrade (finally) to Leopard. I was thinking of Lacie, but this may appeal if you recommend...

Cheers

Re: Wheat Free Oyster Sauce

I'm glad you found it useful! The teacher was AWESOME, and so they asked for a list of safe snacks and recipies for cake, and they just keep things separate. The teacher even thought it through to the play doh and egg carton issues, and has been checking with me about various things. So it's been very well handled.

The school also has a nut free policy, so there are no peanuts or tree nuts to worry about. They have even changed what they sell for school fundraising (the classic chocolate covered almonds and so on) to something else, because of the nut issue. That's pretty amazing.

Re: What it means: constant vigilance

@churchpunkmom when I think about it, I know that there are many other things that could be much worse, and that parents deal with and cope with things that are much more difficult than food allergies. So I count myself blessed as well.

It's funny, that once you start, and put the procedures in place, so to speak, things just become natural and second nature. But because foods and ingredients can change, you can't really get complacent about it, you have to always stay on top of things.

Re: What it means: constant vigilance

WOW - that's a lot of commitment and effort - I have a friend whose daughter has the same kind of allergies, but she's grown out of some of them aged 10/11. My brother had a myriad of allergies, food and otherwise. But none were serious.

I have been so incredibly blessed to have 5 allergy free kids. I am amazed with family history on both sides of allergies, and asthma that we have it so easy.

By the way, I noticed your book listings on the side there.. great books. :) I have a few of those on my own shelf.

Re: Help, my kid has food allergies!

Hi Eugene!
Not sure if you remember me, but this is Jennifer Ing from CPC way back when.
